It has been almost a month since my final exam paper ended, which would mark the end of this phase of my degree life (for the time being). I'm still trying to allow the fact to slowly sink in. Three years of pursuing Bachelor of Science (Hons) Biomedical Science was not a waste, that I'm pretty sure of.

At the same time, it was never an easy one. Through it all, I see God's hands lifting me above all circumstances. I've learnt of dependency in Christ.

I've learnt through people around me. To dream big in life. And to never give up.

To give more, than to receive. And to listen more than I speak.

But above all, to love :)

I've been thinking a lot about life lately. At this turning point, sometimes I wished I have all the answers to the mounting list of questions and uncertainties. How cool would it be to flash forward my life 10 years down the road to see myself settling down with career, family etc. Ah, wishful thoughts!

To every thing there is a season.

As I embark on a season on what-I-should-do-next, I'll trust Him to take control over the steering wheel of my life. Let Your will, not mine, be done.

Today has been a productive day.

Pretty satisfied with the number of mosquito eggs caught today. 300 plus of them.

Did my morning exercise. Yeah, cycled to campus :)

Washed my clothes. Am all ready for the new semester.

Went grocery shopping at Tesco, re-stocked whatever that need to be stocked up.

Spring cleaned my room.

Washed my eww-so-dirty! lab coat.

Off to read Nineteen Minutes now!

May 28th.

In case some of you have been wondering, this is what I've been keeping myself occupied with for the last few weeks. Perhaps months.

We've been practically watching them grow day after day and feeding them(wait, that's what mothers do!), up until the 8th day, where we would have no choice but to kill them (before they're big enough to bite us. You wouldn't want to hear dengue cases reported in UTAR, do you?)

Definitely an experience babysitting these little ones.

Oh kay, let's see.
My last post dated back to November 2009, which makes that a good 6 months before I decided to make a comeback on blogging. I'll try updating as much as possible :)

This blog is still under 'reconstruction', as you can see. I'm still figuring out a suitable title, since the previous one was no longer appropriate. Keep it to yourself if you ever know why :D

Life has been awesome possum! God have been faithful in all ways.

On another note, I had a 2am stroll around Westlake with Victoria yesterday night. Just what I needed at this time. And Kampar night view never fails to amaze me. A few twinkling 'lil stars, and I'm reminded once again that I have an awesome God!

Dear Adie,

Okay, I know this may seem crazy writing a letter to you, but someone needs to knock some senses to your head, and that person can only be me. For now.

I know things has been pretty tough lately. You were homesick. And Genetics paper last Saturday doesn't make the situation better. You were scared, afraid if your past failures would repeat itself again this time around. But know what, my dear? You're strong. Failures are there to help you grow. It isn't always bad. Get up from where you fell last time. Baby steps, remember?

He has been there for you all the time, in case you did not realise, 'coz this God that you worship has promised to never leave nor forsake you. Even the birds of the air and the grass of the field He has taken care of. What more you?

Footprints in the Sands

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed

that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from

anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.

July 5th.

I just got home after attending the Asian Cultural Night, themed Symphony of Colours. It was pretty awesome. Performances were great, enough to entertain the crowd. Alicia's ballet dance was again mesmerizing, and I was laughing my heart out for the Kadmat Bomman's drama sketch. Dom's hip-hop dance was also entertaining. So proud of my 'sai ti'.

Most were dressed up for the occasion- traditional costume. I wored kurti, and was feeling rather under-dressed actually. Anyways, two thumbs up for the event =)

I had goosebumps after doing this test. Try this out.

June 14th.

Hey all!!

I'm back! And for those who have been faithfully following my blog, my heartfelt Thank Youuu! to you (you know who you are). =D

I've got so much to tell. But I guess I'll just keep it short and simple.

June has been a crazy month for me. I was pretty much busy with the May orientation for Utar's freshmen along with the other committees - the setting of City Tour booth, plannings and more plannings. Hence I was back early to Kampar.

Okay, remember me telling how quiet Westlake was during the semester break. I was wrong. In fact, it was one of my best weeks yet here. All five of us committees (Su Ying, Sy Huey, Elise and Sher Li and myself) and the ice-breaking committes have bonded pretty well. Some of the stuffs we did include sleepovers, late mamak sessions, karaoke at A-Box, badminton at ACS Kampar, steamboats as well as laksa treats.

City Tour Day was last Sunday, and thank God everything went well. It was a fine, sunny day. Just perfect for a trip like this. I'm sure most of us had fun! (Pics will be up soon on facebook)

June 10th- 13th : BRATs Ipoh 09

My 4 days and 3 nights stay at the Heritage Hotel with 33 other young, crazy bunch of brats was just awesome! The facilitators were great themselves. Among them were The Star Youth Editor, Ivy Soon; Niki Cheong and Mr. Leong; R.AGE journalists, Sharmila Nair and Ian Yee; blogger Jason a.k.a JasonMumbles; and Senior BRATs Stanley, Sandra and Suraya.

We were pushed all out on the first day itself, having to do a press conference with local indie band, Bittersweet. Sweet! =) Our first taste of what journalism is all about - assignments and deadlines to be met.

The second day required us to interview and record the views of Ipoh folks on our given topic - whether a pass in English SPM is necessary. And from here, we made a video out of it. I was all excited as I held the video camcorder and 'The Star' mic in my hands. (Mestilah.. first time ma. And all this makes me feel so pro. Teehee).

The BRATs headed to Kuala Kangsar the third day. It was a pretty nice town, cozy and homely with small little shophouses and kampung houses around. My assignment group a.k.a Papaya did a reporting on the life of people along Sungai Kangsar. It was really fun apart from the blazing hot sun. All in all, we did a great job!

P.S. I bet I've gained some kilos. Like they say, BRATs never go hungry. Four days of good food- buffet style.

Just so you know, I'm back in Kampar. 2 weeks earlier before the new semester starts again. Plannings for the May Orientation City Tour next week is almost done. And I'm looking forward to attend the Brats workshop, organized by The Star next month in Ipoh.

Westlake is pretty quiet now. But my days here has been good so far. I'll be sleeping over at Sher Li's for safety sake.

To know that Mother's Day is around the corner. And the best part is I'll be home celebrating with her!

April 14. Sunny.

Ever imagined how fast time flies? You laughed and cried, you take time to love, learn of new people and your surroundings, and eventually building yourself up to be a better person.

It's finally nearing to the end of the semester. I'm practically done with everything - exams, lab reports, quizzes, assignments, presentations... =) And as for the 'Accidentally in Love' musical play, it ended with a bang! Everyone had fun as much as I did. I'm glad I was part of the whole crew. It was worth the experience. Memorable indeed.

Next up would be the finals and the May Orientation City Tour, in which I would be coordinating, together with the other committees. I'm sure we'll have a great time! =D

As for now, I can officially say that I've survived through 14 weeks. All by God's grace.

March 12. Rainy.

I saw a rainbow on my way back home today, just after a slight drizzle of rain. It was around 7pm.

The rainbow stretches from one end to another, making a nice semi-circular shape over the mountains. The sight of it really was amazing. And it makes me smile just by looking at it.

I love rainbows. I wonder what's at the end of it?

Finally, the ticket back to KL is in my hands =) All I know, I'm counting the days to have a breath of KL air again. Dear Saturday, I'm waiting for you!

However, there is a whole load of paperwork to complete before this coming weekend. For sure, I'm taking a huge risk. What was I thinking? Part of me is longing to go home. I'm homesick, okay..
I was listening to Home by Michael Buble the other day, and trust me, you wouldn't want to hear this song whenever you're missing home.

For the first time in my life, I'm blogging from an unfamiliar place, far north from where I used to stay, deep into the heart of the Perak state, a quiet and peaceful township of Kampar. It has been a pretty challenging 7 weeks of stay I must say.

I remembered the excitement I had after learning that campus life would be far more interesting here, which slowly evolved to nervousness on the night my parents finally left me all by myself here. I didn't know what to expect of life in this foreign place - the change of my normal daily routine, the new environment and people. It's like starting life again from scratch.

The first two weeks were toughest, with me trying my level best to adapt. I found comfort in the company of my friends, and housemates whom are nice enough to make me feel like home; Uncle Jason who has been like a father to me, friends who took the trouble to ask 'how are you' and my family who has been there all the way for me. Thanks =)

My stay here has been good, apart from the blazing hot and humid weather. I enjoy the feeling of independence; the feeling of meeting new faces; the feeling of having my own room, my own bed(this is for u, pie!); the feeling of attending classes and workshops; the feeling of making myself busy with life; this feeling of having my own freedom. I feel good about it. It really does feel good to feel good. Do not mention homesickness.

I believe at some points in life, we are to be independent, to be reponsible to ourselves and to take charge over our very own life. It's all up to us whether to live life or be the most boring person on Earth.

I've made my choice, and I choose to live.
